VISPA volunteering

Do you want to get involved in volunteering in the sports and leisure industry? We run a volunteering programme for individuals from the age of 14.

VISPA

VISPA (Volunteering in Sport and Physical Activity) is a volunteer scheme dedicated to sports volunteering in Newark and Sherwood.

There are two unique opportunities available to individuals that want to get involved in volunteering in sport and physical activity (VISPA).

Firstly, there is the introductory scheme which enables you to earn points, receive rewards and recognition for the volunteering that you do.

This could be in a leisure centre, community sports club or volunteering through your school but all hours mean points, which means prizes for you!

If you're already volunteering in a club setting, you can sign up to the VISPA programme and start earning your points today.

There are many different roles to fulfil as a volunteer. Whether you have good communication skills, a passion to coach sport or IT skills, there will be an opportunity ideal for you.

Sports Coach - This could include assisting sports sessions at a local sports club, after school clubs and/or community settings.

Sports Official - We are always looking for sports officials to help out at local events, competitions and sports clubs.

Events Volunteer - A variety of events are organised throughout the year within Newark and Sherwood which require volunteers.

Administration - This could involve becoming a sports club committee member or assisting with the general administration tasks required within a sports club. This could include recording minutes at meetings, collecting registers or updating the club website.

Fundraising - Without fundraising activities most local sports clubs wouldn't be able to offer any provision. This could be bag packing at the local supermarket or sponsored events.

The second option is to join the VISPA Academy – this includes a minimum number of 2 volunteer hours per week in one of our leisure centres, Blidworth, Dukeries, Newark or Southwell.  Once you’ve completed a minimum number, we’ll pay for you to complete and achieve a recognised qualification.
