VISPA – Volunteer in Sport and Physical Activity

If you love sports and want to get involved by volunteering in a local sports club or one of Active4Today’s leisure centres then this opportunity is for you!

Did you know that volunteering is a brilliant way to meet new like-minded people and gain skills that support your own personal development? You can even add the experience to your CV or university application, showcasing yourself to potential employers and educational institutions - what’s not to love?

Active4Today’s VISPA scheme is dedicated to supporting sport and physical activity volunteering across the district of Newark and Sherwood – that’s Ollerton to Newark, Bilsthorpe to Blidworth and everywhere in between!

You can volunteer in lots of different sports and activities from traditional football, netball, hockey, swimming to supporting holiday activity and specialist community project sessions, there really is something to suit everyone.

Could you be our next volunteer? We have a limited number of 48 volunteer places available each year, so don’t wait or you might miss out!

VISPA Academy (Leisure Centre)

This part of the programme required you to commit 2 hours a week at one of our leisure centres supporting swimming, gymnastics, or trampolining lessons. It’s a small commitment with a huge impact: you’ll be helping others, building confidence, and having an impact in the local community.

And here’s the game-changer: once you’ve committed a certain amount of hours and a course becomes available, we’ll fully fund or part-fund a recognised qualification for you*. That means your volunteering doesn’t just give back to the community — it powers up your future with skills and credentials that open doors to paid employment with Active4Today.
