Gym inductions

An induction is the first step on your journey to a fitter, healthier you. It helps us to understand your goals so we can give you all the support you need. It also means you will be using the equipment properly, giving the right muscles a good work out and minimising the risk of injury.  You must have an induction prior to using the fitness suites, this is included in most memberships and can be booked on Leisure Hub.

Personal Trainer Regular questions and answers.

1) When will I start seeing a difference?
You should start to see a difference after 8 weeks.

2) Should I eat protein or carbs after my work out?
Both. Your post-workout meal is arguably the most important meal of the day if you train with any kind of intensity. You need to replenish the glycogen stores that have been depleted by consuming carbohydrates, and you need to make sure you have adequate protein so that your body can repair itself after the beating you just put it through

3) Will doing the block booking save me money?
Yes it will save you £50, which is 2 PT sessions.

4) How much should I sleep?
Although eight hours has been a general rule of thumb, new research has emerged that seven hours is the sweet spot for brain function and living longer.

5) Should I train before or after work?
Train when you're least likely to blow it off or be forced to cancel. It will take you 10-21 days to adapt to a new training time, so stick to your plan and power through.

6) Why should I have a PT?
A personal trainer is the fitness professional and the motivation you need. Your personal trainer is extremely important to your fitness success. ... Once the goals are set, a personal trainer will teach proper exercise methods and progressions. Each piece of information taught has one purpose: to reach your fitness goals in a time frame.

7) I don’t know if I have the time?
There is over 10,000 minutes in a week, surely you could train for 3 times a week?

8) I wouldn’t know what to do when I don’t have a PT?
The workouts you do are based on the F.I.T.T. Principle, meaning you choose the frequency, intensity, time and type of workout you're doing and manipulate those elements over time. A trainer can help you navigate all of those things and ensure you have the correct techniques and programme when you’re not with them.

9) Will I get bored?
A trainer is coming at this with an objective eye and may see some things about your program or workouts right away that will definitely make them more interesting and fun.

10) I have injuries?
Our Trainers are trained to manage the injuries and possibly help with recovery, they also have contacts for more specific injuries.

Whether you want to work out your core, practice your footwork or lunge all the way to the door, our functional zones give you the room you need to do your thing. It's also where our fitness professionals hold their fun fast high intensity workout activities.

Free Weights

Free weight exercises enable the muscles to contract through a fuller range of motion giving an advanced muscle workout.

Family Zone

With our Family zones you can work out in a less competitive, more relaxed and friendly environment.

With house cardio equipment and resistance equipment, which has no set-up adjustments and intuitive push-button controls, make Circuit Series an inviting introduction to strength training.
